Introducing Fashion Assignment 1 - Zero Waste Kimono, a recent project showcasing a garment that produced zero waste. The pattern utilized an entire A0 size sheet and was created using a recycled bed quilt, with the vision of creating a kimono inspired by royalty. This project demonstrates a creative and sustainable approach to fashion design.
The final piece is suited to consumers who enjoy exploring textures and unique colours through their outfits. Yellow / gold is not typically a colour people gravitate towards; this piece is for the bold types, any age or gender! Style it up with golden accessories, play with layering of neutrals underneath, or simply pair with some jeans. The textures and royal-esque patterns on the fabric create a point of difference and is
Whilst the fabric is thick, its lustre finish and natural low drape does not lend itself to provide warmth. It is recommended not to take this one into a blizzard.
The next iteration of this project will be completed using a heavily quilted variation of the same fabric. It will feature pockets, longer sleeves and a trench-coat length body. This project will focus on providing warmth - for the blizzards!
